BAJAUR: Authorities here on Thursday sealed 10 unregistered private medical laboratories, five medicine stores, two clinics and a private hospital and also arrested some of the owners of the health facilities. The district administration has launched a massive action against unregistered medical facilities. The laboratories, stores, clinics and private hospital were sealed in different markets of Khar tehsil. According to the statement, officials led by the assistant commissioner, Dr Sadiq Ali, sealed the said facilities after their owners failed to produce any legal document necessary for such running such outlets. The raiding team also arrested several owners and operators of unregistered health facilities. Officials during the raids inspected scores of private medical laboratories, medicine stores, private hospitals and clinics in Khar tehsil. Officials directed the representatives of Medical Stores Association and Private Medical Laboratories Association to provide lists of both registered and unregistered private health facilities to them immediately to send the same to provincial health department for its record. The statement said officials also found some doctors and paramedics of district headquarters hospital involved in private practice. The medical superintendent of the health facility was directed to suspend them.
